If you are in Congleton and looking for a dentist, Visage Dental in nearby Prestbury may be worth a short drive. We are an independent practice offering general dentistry alongside cosmetic treatments such as composite bonding, 3D printed ceramic veneers and Invisalign clear aligners. Our aim is simple: to give you honest advice, explained in plain English, so you can make a decision that feels right for you.
One of the most common questions we hear is, “Which treatment do I actually need?” The answer depends on your teeth, your goals and your budget. A single chipped tooth may only need a little bonding. Discoloured or worn teeth across the smile might be better suited to veneers. Teeth that are crooked could benefit from straightening first. We will help you weigh these up at your consultation.
Bonding is often the least invasive way to make a modest cosmetic improvement. We build up tooth-coloured composite resin directly on the tooth, shape it by hand and polish it to blend in. It can repair chips, soften irregular edges and close small gaps, typically with little or no drilling.
Composite is a softer material than ceramic. It can absorb stains from food and drink, and edges can chip, so periodic polishing or touch-ups are part of looking after it.
When patients want a longer-lasting change to the colour or shape of several teeth, we may discuss ceramic veneers. Ours are 3D printed. We scan your teeth, design the proposed smile digitally and go through the design with you, so you have the opportunity to give feedback before your veneers are made.
Ceramic generally holds its colour and shine better than composite, which is one reason some people prefer it. Veneers are not right for everyone, however, and we will explain if another approach would be more suitable or more conservative.
3D printed veneers are priced from £475 per tooth. The total cost depends on the number of veneers and any preparatory treatment. In some cases, a small amount of enamel may need to be prepared; we will tell you if this applies and what it means before you decide. You will receive a written plan and quote, and you are welcome to take it away and think it over.
If you are deciding between the two treatments, our blog compares the cost and maintenance of 3D printed veneers, porcelain and composite.
Invisalign clear aligners are removable trays that straighten teeth in gradual steps. Because they are clear, they are less noticeable than fixed braces, and you can take them out for meals and cleaning.
We will check your teeth and bite before recommending aligners. If they are suitable, we will create a digital plan and explain how long treatment may take, how many hours a day the aligners should be worn and what retention involves at the end.
Our general services include check-ups, hygiene visits, fillings and crowns for patients of all ages. Good oral health is the starting point for any cosmetic treatment, so we will always check your teeth and gums first.
Bonding is often less expensive per tooth, but it may need more maintenance over time. We will give you a quote for each suitable option so you can compare. Our fees page lists current prices, with 3D printed veneers starting from £475 per tooth.
Local anaesthetic can be used where needed, and we will explain each step and check how you are feeling throughout. If you are nervous, please let us know so we can talk it through beforehand.
Your veneers are designed digitally from a scan, and we will go through the proposed design with you beforehand.
